WASHINGTON (TND) — The Federal Reserve is showing some signs of growing concerns about the rate inflation cooling off and uncertainty about when will be the right time to start cutting interest rates that are taking a toll on consumers that have had to rely on credit cards to make purchases due to higher prices.
This year has brought several inflation readings that were higher than expected, pushing back the timeline for when the Fed might begin cutting its benchmark interest rate that makes it more expensive to borrow money for things like auto loans and credit cards.

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A woman convicted of helping her boyfriend plot and cover up the murder of his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos, during contentious divorce and child custody proceedings in Connecticut was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison Friday.
A state judge in Stamford handed down the punishment to Michelle Troconis in the 2019 disappearance of Dulos, whose body has never been found since she disappeared from her New Canaan home.

According to a criminal complaint, Altoona police were dispatched to the 400 block of Cherry Avenue Christmas night after a man was stabbed in the neck.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — Police continue searching for answers after a 3-year-old child was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. last week.
In response to the deadly shooting of Ty’ah Settles of Southeast, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has raised the stakes, increasing the total possible reward amount to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
MPD said the girl was found at a nearby fire station in the 2400 block of Irving Street, Southeast, suffering from a gunshot wound.
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — We are starting to see some movement at the future site of Cambria County's first Rutter's location.
It appears a trailer and some equipment have been moved to the work site, located along Scalp Avenue in Richland Township, near Ollies.
Last year it was reported that Rutter's had purchased about 8 acres of land for the new store.
