SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Multiple crews were called to a fire at a bed and breakfast near Treasure Lake in Clearfield county Monday afternoon.
Flames broke out at the Narrows Creek Bed and Breakfast along Route 255.
Sandy Township’s police chief told 6 News that the fire started in a detached garage before jumping to the main building.
Route 255 was closed between Interstate 80 and the area of Treasure Lake as crews battled the blaze.

MACUNGIE, Pa. (AP) — Mack Trucks plans to lay off 305 employees at its assembly plant north of Philadelphia. The company is blaming the layoffs at its Lower Macungie Township plant on a downturn in the heavy-duty truck market. The (Allentown) Morning Call says the layoffs will take effect at the end of February. The cuts represent about 13% of the plant's payroll. The layoffs were expected after Mack said last month that it would need to slow production to cope with reduced demand.
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Local officials cut the ribbon on a new respite home in Altoona to be operated by Skills of Central Pennsylvania.
The home gives caretakers of family members with intellectual or developmental disabilities a chance to refresh and relax.
The facility features four private bedrooms, accessible entries and large common areas.
Skills' CEO says many caretakers don't have a substitute.
“With this respite house they can bring their family member here for a summer break if they want to do a vacation,"
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa — The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report on the plane crash that killed two people in Cambria County on June 17th.
In the report posted on its website, the agency said, the plane “was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. The pilot and a passenger were fatally injured.” It reports the plane took off Saturday morning just after 5, about a 1/2 hour before sunrise.
UPDATE | Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees has identified the victim of the early morning fatal house fire in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown.
Lees says 32-year-old Alexander Perring suffered thermal and inhalation injuries in the blaze.
Investigators say the fire broke out at the home, located along the 700 block of Pine Street, just before 2 a.m., while crews were responding to another house fire that was just a few blocks away.

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — Organizers say a Garth Brooks concert in May will be the largest event ever to be held at Heinz Field.
Officials say the concert, scheduled for May 18, is set to break the attendance record for the Pittsburgh Stadium after 72,887 tickets were sold.
According to a release, the previous record was set Sept. 10, 2016, with 69,983 tickets for the University of Pittsburgh versus Penn State University football game.
University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State's board of trustees has overwhelmingly approved a $700 million renovation plan for Beaver Stadium.
University president Neeli Bendapudi termed the renovation “vital for the community and fan experience,” and says it will have a major economic development impact.
Penn State administrators considered two other stadium options before recommending the renovation.
They say building a new stadium would be too costly, an estimated two billion dollars, and simply making repairs to the stadium infrastructure would cost about two hundred million dollars but would simply be a short-term fix that wouldn't address future needs and options.
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — PennDOT and the Maryland Department of Transportation hosted another open house Thursday to discuss the Route 219 project.
The meeting was held at the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department and allowed the public to not only look at the proposed plans but also provide feedback on the project.
The project is proposing a new 8 mile long four lane highway from the end of the Meyersdale bypass to the newly constructed portion of Route 219 in Maryland.
